Thomas & Steven Moss, have had their boats insured with Sunderland Marine for over 40 years since March 1968, when Thomas Moss insured his first coble with the company - the original "Border Queen" BH133.

From my point of view, I have always found the Underwriting department service to be very prompt when dealing with queries about my policies. During the last year they have been more than helpful in advising me about insurance cover for myself and my crew, who now include two gentlemen from the Philippines.

With regards to the claims department, it is extremely reassuring to me, in worrying times, to have first name contact with somebody who knows me personally, my vessels and my business. I can ask any member of the claims team for advice and usually find that a surveyor comes back to me that day or within 24 hours to visit my vessel.

This happened to me recently when I was on passage to Amble with my coble, Border Queen. I spoke to the claims department and they arranged for a surveyor to meet me at Amble harbour - he actually did so as I was mooring up at Amble boatyard, just 1 hour later!
