Vacancies - Senior Risk and Compliance Assistant (2 positions available)

The Company is looking to appoint two Senior Risk & Compliance Assistants to its Risk Team based at its Durham headquarters.

This is an exciting opportunity to become involved in overseeing the Group's risk management and regulatory affairs both on a domestic and an international basis. A more detailed job description is available upon request. Applicants should have relevant experience of risk management as well as exposure of working within a regulated industry sector. Ideally, candidates should have experience of working within a legal or compliance team with paralegal or similar experience.

Directors visit north east Scotland (uploaded July 2010)

Following the Annual General Meeting, held in North Berwick, representatives from the Sunderland Marine Board visited north east Scotland on 1st & 2nd July.

The journey began at Fraserburgh where the group were shown around the pelagic vessel "Ocean Quest". From there, they went on to Macduff to see the new vessel under construction for the West family. On Friday 2nd, a visit to Peterhead Fish Market was followed by a tour of the white fish vessel "Glenugie". The trip concluded at Denholms fish processing factory. The Directors and representatives of Sunderland Marine would like to thank Tony Simpson (Denholms), Alec West and Graham Taylor (Westward), Donald Anderson (Glenugie) and Karl Brown (Caley Fisheries) and Michael Thomson (SMMI) for making the arrangements.

Appointments (uploaded July 2010)

With effect from Wednesday, 30th June 2010, Tom Rutter, Angela Vipond and Alison Alden have been appointed to the Board of Sunderland Marine.

To ensure that the complement Board comprises of a balance of skills necessary to meet the ever increasing demands of the business environment, these appointments will further enhance the specific disciplines of Aquaculture, Risk Management and Finance.

We wish our colleagues Tom, Angela and Alison every success in their new roles as executive directors at Sunderland Marine.

Staff News (Uploaded July 2010)

We are pleased to announce that two new members of staff have joined the Company at our head office in Durham.

In late 2009, Paul Wood joined our marine department as a trainee underwriter. Lee Williamson, General Counsel, commenced his employment in April 2010. We wish our new colleagues good fortune in their new positions.
