Hull Claims
The hull claims department handle all incidents involving damage to or loss of insured vessels as well as property claims made by or pursued against third parties. Our highly experienced staff supported by a wide network of technical and legal experts are available to assist.
Some of the key points of our hull claims handling philosophy;
- Early appointment of local surveyor/lawyer/technical consultant.
- Staff attendance where appropriate.
- Claims dealt with as expediently as possible to minimise delays to Members.

What to do in an emergency
Should an incident occur which may result in a claim for damage to the insured vessel or third party property please inform us or your insurance broker as soon as possible and we will instruct the appropriate people to assist you immediately.
Take whatever measures that are reasonable to avoid further damage without putting yourself or others at risk.
Any expenses incurred in mitigating or averting a loss that would be covered by your policy should be recoverable as part of your claim.
P&I Claims
The P&I claims department handle claims made against our members by injured crew, passengers and third parties (According to cover purchased.) Our worldwide network of legal and adjusting professionals is available to assist Members as required. All claims are overseen from Head Office in the UK.
Some of the key points of our P&I claims handling philosophy;
- Early investigation of accidents to preserve evidence.
- Prompt settlement of liability claims.
- Use of Alternative Dispute Resolution to contain costs.
